Think About This

Just because there is pain and hurt, doesn’t mean one is not truly happy.

Even the rain can bring joy, not only the sun.

You will know when someone really cares, more than general caring.

Don’t try to understand everything, it never happens.

Some carry crosses that are much different from the others.

Everything is for God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; even the darkness we must give.

I Dance For You

This post goes along with my previous one.  We had XLT tonight and I was inspired to write this.

Dear Jesus, my brother

I dance for you, I dance for you

This is my prayer to you

Sometimes words are few

So I just dance for you

You walked to Calvary

Carrying a cross so heavy

You wanted to set me free

So I dance for you to see

Oh the pain you bear

From my sins, it isn’t fair

But nor was I fair

So I dance in your care

EVerywhere you come from

To save all, not just some

Our Savior you did become

To dance for you I come

Now I am here

Setting aside all fear

To me you are very near

I dance in your love clear

I dance for you, I dance for you

This is my prayer to you

Sometimes words are few

So I just dance for you

With love, your sister

Maybe they can read this before we dance at the prayer service…

He Died

There He is, hanging on the cross,

The Savior of our broken world;

Once upon a time died for us.

How painful it must have been,

To die in that horrible way;

Will we make Him do it again?

Paradoxes of Life

In my spiritual reading this evening, I came across this statement.  I thought it particularly interesting and it most definitely stuck out to me.  I am currently reading A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life: Welcoming the Soul and Weaving Community in a Wounded World by Parker J. Palmer.  It was a book that I had from a class that I took in college.

The deeper our faith, the more doubt we must endure; the deeper our hope, the more prone we are to despair; the deeper our love, the more pain its loss will bring: these are a few of the paradoxes we must hold as human beings.  If we refuse to hold them in hopes of living without doubt, despair, and pain, we also find ourselves living without faith, hope, and love.

I am not sure about the rest of you, but this is something I see a lot of in my life.  The closer I have been getting to what I have discerned thus far to be where God wants me to be, the harder it gets to really believe that it could be true.  The first paradox is the one that really hits me the most.  Doubt is a cruel things and it lurks everywhere in the world.  Satan does not want us in God’s army and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get you away.  Doubt leaves many people with unrealized dreams that God has given.  I always am praying that as my faith grows and develops in this formation process, the doubt does not increase with it, or that I am able to withstand it.

What does that quote mean to you? Did it strike you in any way?

Patience My Beloved

During class this morning (yes I was paying attention) I started to be inspired to write again.  This is what came of that random inspiration to write.  It is almost like a call and response, being able to be sung as a psalm possibly.  I had an idea for the melody, but I must recall it again.  I see the refrain as God (in whatever form of the Trinity) speaking to us and the verses our call to Him in the moments of this life.  For me it relates more so my current place in life, formation with the Salesian Sisters.

Be patient my child, I am with you

For you are my beloved

Oh Lord I’m being tempted

My mind is full of chaos

Will I ever find calm

Be patient my child, I am with you

For you are my beloved

My heart pulls every direction

The evil one creeping in

Can I still keep him out

Be patient my child, I am with you

For you are my beloved

There is pain in my past

Following like a shadow

Does peace ever come

Be patient my child, I am with you

For you are my beloved

I am here to be with you

There is a great love in my heart

When can it be released

Be patient my child, I am with you

For you are my beloved

He’s all She’s Living For

Yesterday evening, two of us went to pray in the little chapel for a few minutes before going ot spiritual reading and the office.  We had previously said the rosary, so we decided a little small chapel time with us would be good.  As I was sitting there, a poem/song came to my head.  The melody is a little unsure, but the words are powerfully there.  So take them as you wish, a poem or song lyrics, but it is the meaning behind them that really counts.  Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy.  Don’t be afraid to comment!

There is a story

Yet to be told

Of one who changed the world

With her hands in a fold

Kneeling admist the pain

Her heart open wide

All love sent forth

In God she did confide

And she sang of that day

When God would take her away

Then she knelt and showed a smile

Knowing that she’d go the mile

That day He knocks on the door

She’ll know what she’s living for

On day in prayer

Her heart sang a song

She must step out of her box

To where she will belong

Moving past her own life

Heart willing to care

Passion shown through

With God she will be there

And she sang of that day

When God would take her away

Then she knelt and showed a smile

Knowing that she’d go the mile

That day He knocks on the door

She’ll know what she’s living for

Now stepping through the doorway

Her life put in His steady hand

She seeks out that love

And someone to understand

He calls her even closer

She’s not sure if she can

He says “My child I’m here for you

Look where we have been”

Now she sings of the day

That God did take her away

She kneels down with a smile

Ready to go the extra mile

She walked through God’s door

He’s all she’s living for

Dear Lord, please guide me through the hard times and the good times.  Help to keep walking through the doors you have opened for me that I may become even closer to you and the will you have for me.  Thank you for the friends you have put in my life to keep me on the path to you.  You are all I am living for.  Amen.

Recovering Life

thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump

deathly silence, heart beat stops

was it enough, was there the love

approval maybe, but that one time

why did that happen, answer

purposefully made pain happened

recovered, sure, but does it repair

attempt at the best, is it enough

ran again, did wrong, turned away

but came back, tried hard to redeem

too far away gone, never enough

what to do, where to go, give up

no, can’t be, help is coming, wait

heart beat stops, deathly silence

thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump
