On Fridays during Lent we have been, as a community of staff at the retreat center, going through the Stations of the Cross put together by one of the brothers. As each Friday comes, we continue to move through the Stations. I love that we stop whatever we are doing at three ‘o’ clock, head to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, and take time to pray. It is so important and I think that we should do it everyday.
Today something interesting came upon my reflection. The phone started ringing. We all stayed put and ignored the work to spend time in prayer. This person must have been persistent because it started ringing again right after it stopped. Yet still, we stayed put in our prayer. This is what things should be like in life. Prayer should be taking over our life and not being put aside for anything else. This is something I am continuing to learn and re-realize each day.
